Description
It's the Rock - a decommissioned federal high-security prison, on an island in the middle of San Francisco Bay. This place ranks as one of the creepiest, darkest places in San Francisco - and also one of its top tourist destinations.
To those that can feel it, that tension extends beyond the logical contradictions and into the realm of the metaphysical. It's a powerful place, fueled by history of misery and betrayal, with a strength that isn't exactly black but is very very dark. It is the focal point of several ley lines running through this region.
The dark power surging through this island has given it an intellectus spirit, with a dark and hungry personality. Alcatraz likes people... the way Homer Simpson likes donuts. No one has been able to claim the island as a sanctum, though local rumor has it that a couple of mages have tried. No one heard from them again.
